Connect with Nature: Discovering Earth’s Hidden Beauty!
On the day of the event, before the sun disappeared below the horizon, nearly 100 participants gathered at Town Park @Bandar Puteri Puchong, embarking on a journey of nature observation. Children were so passionately volunteered to lead the picking up of litter and waste we found along the way. We immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds of the surrounding flora and fauna. This endeavour wasn’t merely a cleanup but an intimate experience with nature.
After the exploration, we formed the “60+” symbol on the ground with environmental-friendly candles, a soul-touching visual that moved everyone. This symbol not only signifies our commitment to the Earth but also our resolve to make positive change.
Leaving Beautiful Memories! An Ongoing Commitment to Protect the Earth
Before concluding the event, we shared our feelings and experiences, focusing on the overwhelming contributions of the children, which added a special touch to the event. One child proudly shared that his family opts to use candles instead of electrical lights at home, a small but meaningful action that helps reduce light pollution and protect the environment.
Through these shared experiences, we were reminded that understanding the essence and significance of Earth Hour and experiencing the gratification of environmental stewardship firsthand can spur us to effect meaningful change. Even the small changes in our daily routines, such as turning off the lights for an hour, holds the potential for significant environmental preservation.
Protecting the Earth isn’t solely the responsibility of the adults; it’s a collective endeavour. We trust that participants have carried these sentiments home and would crystallise them into tangible actions in their daily lives.
Lastly, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to every participant for their invaluable participation and contribution, not only for spending an hour in the dark but also their unwavering commitment to protect our Earth beyond this symbolic gesture!
